Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI)
OVERVIEW
Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) is a problem-solving approach which involves identifying quality problems in the delivery of care and designing and implementing remedial measures in solving those problems.
The QA/QI works based on the model of improvement which combines the renowned Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle with a clear aim, appropriate measurements and strategies for improvement.
The concept was introduced in 1985, where we adopted and adapted the PDSA Cycle to develop Malaysia's QA/QI Cycles: The Problem-Solving Approach.
