Performance Surveillance in Healthcare
OVERVIEW
Performance Surveillance in Healthcare was introduced in 2005 as one of the quality tools used to assess the quality of healthcare. The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are developed and selected based on global / national priority areas and its impact to the population. KPIs are formulated to measure performance of MOH's top leaders - Director General of Health, Deputy Director General of Health, Director of Division and State Health Director. There are also the monitoring of Clinical Service KPIs specifically for clinicians, Hospital Performance Indicator for Accountability for MOH's hospital/institute directors and other special KPIs - Outcome Based Budgetting (OBB), National Indicator Approach (NIA), Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Universal Healthcare Coverage (UHC).
