Laboratory Accreditation: MS ISO 15189

All MOH hospital laboratories are encouraged to be accredited to MS ISO15189 and shall maintain the accreditation status. The accreditation status was awarded by the Department of Standards Malaysia. State pathologists or pathologists within a state are able to provide guidance and advised on training needs related to MS ISO15189 to hospitals and health clinic laboratories within the state or district under their supervision. The first MOH hospital laboratory that received accreditation status for MS ISO15189 was Pathology Department of Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II in 2011. The new version of MS ISO15189:2022 has been implemented since 2023. Currently a total of 38 MOH hospital laboratories and institutes have been accredited.
